Future Sounds

Logo & branding guide for a record label

Future Sounds is a record label centred around producing an eclectic music range that will appeal to large audiences. With zero branding they wanted a strong look that would be adaptable across multiple methods of marketing.

For this brief I looked into focusing on the type of music that Future Sounds would be producing which, in essence, would be all types of music. The task then became to produce a logo and accompanying branding that could evolve with its surroundings.

The Story & First Sketches

Since the basis of future sounds was on an eclectic range of music we started to develop logos under the idea of music reduced to it’s simplest forms. Taking away elements we wanted an anamorphic logo that could represent a range of music.

Logo Design & Moodboards

I wanted to create a unique set of brand guidelines for the shape history posters. Extensive research was carried out into other areas of flat design and current campaigns before finally looking at a range of kid friendly films.

Final Design

The poster layout was kept simple with the information given hierarchy by its use of white space. By minimising the content on the page we were able to leave the illustration to the interpretation and thoughts of the viewer while still making it clear what the poster showed.
